The first Cartoon County guest of 2025 was Brighton-based indie comics writer Harrison Perry, who is the co-founder of the independent publishing company Warped and Torn Comics with artist Fin Clements. Perry and Clements have two comics under their belt so far, the soon-to-be-released Atonement of a Monk, which tells the story of an MMA fighter with a secret destiny, and the first issue of Project: Monsters about shape-changing dinosaurs. The latter title raised nearly £2,000 on Kickstarter to ensure its publication, with their new comic hoping to find a similar result. Perry gave a stimulating account of their self-publishing journey, how they found patrons for a new comics company, and what genres have influenced their first couple of titles.
