Come along!
Our meetings are held on the last Monday of the month (exceptions occasionally apply, so check our Facebook page before setting out). See here for details about our next guest.
You’re welcome to join us in the back room at The Walrus, 10 Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AD. Doors open at 6.30pm, with the Q&A kicking off at 7.30pm. There is usually* no need to register if you’d like to come along: we look forward to seeing you.
Every month we invite a comic-maker to join us and talk about their work with our host Alex Fitch. These interviews are recorded and subsequently broadcast on Resonance FM’s Panel Borders, of which Alex is also the presenter.
There’s always a chance to join in the Q&A afterwards, and then stay as long as you like for a drink and a chat. Why not bring along your comic or work in progress if you’d like to share it with the group? Cartoon County’s membership includes people at all stages of a comics career, from those just starting out, to lifelong professionals (and, indeed, people who don’t make comics at all, but love to read them). One thing’s for sure: we’re always happy to give friendly advice.
Not local to Brighton, or just prefer to stay at home? We also provide a rough and ready livestream online, via Zoom. Please register on Eventbrite if you would like to join us for the Zoom session. You can follow us on Facebook or Eventbrite if you’d like a notification every time we post a new event.
Online or in person, all comic creators and people who love comics are welcome.
*except on rare occasions when our guest is so popular that we risk exceeding the capacity of the room - we’ll always announce this on Facebook, Twitter and Eventbrite beforehand.
